It's really hard ti choose. Do those programs use lots Of calculations? If so you will want a higher end CPU like an i5 or i7 because that will improve your experience a lot. However I also don't know your budget so I can't reccomend you any particular models.

In this range You can get good laptop

If looking for a mulitpurpose laptop that does, music, games, video and internet, this Sony VAIO VPC-EB42FX/BJ is for you, I used to own a old sony vaio, and it still works. these last long.

PROS:

Good keyboard
Lots of USB ports
Has Intel Wireless Display built in, to view laptop contents on your TV (requires a wireless adapter for the TV). Haven't tried this.
VGA port to show screen on a larger monitor
Not loaded with "bloatware": just a starter version of Norton Security and MS Office.
Fairly light to carry around
Does not seem to get hot
Fan is very quiet; you can hardly hear it.

Is has:

I will strongly recommend you Dell Inspiron 17R 1599MRB 17.3-Inch Laptop. As it is under your budget and fulfills your all requirements under reasonable price. You will experience HD graphics and good quality sound. This laptop is best for gaming and all kind of stuff due to its high specifications. When you are getting all things at reasonable price in this laptop then dont go for expensive one like Apple. You can check this out at
