I have had a certification (Air Force) from some time ago for electronics and instrumentation, but my jobs have taken me away from those fields.  I need to catch up on the technologies so I can get back into employment in a field that I really liked many years ago.  Thought I could maybe start with something like "PLCs for Dummies" and go from there.  I am hoping that some of these guides would be available on inter library loan so I can save on expenses.

What good study guides are available for PLCs.

Surprisingly enough, there is a book "PLCs" for Dummies".  It is more of an introduction to PLCs and the materials seems to be a bit dated, but still a start.  For more detailed studies you almost need to get specific information from the manufacturer as they seem to be quite proprietary.  For more serious studies, the Cleveland Institute of Electronics offers a general course, as well as other community colleges.
