i am new to FPGAs and have no idea of their working....Actually i need to make a Driver of a Brushless dc motor.. and wanted to controll the motor with AVR microcontroller..... but now i wanna make a change... and want to do both(driving and controlling)..by FPGA.... i have idea that controlling can be done by fpga easily.... but i wanna ask that is it possible to make an algorithm of a driver in VHDL.. and than fpga may work as a driver of Motor?... help me.. as soon possible...

The FPGA can implement your drive algorithm, but typically won't have big enough output transistors to handle motor power. It would seem easier to just program the AVR and use it to drive sufficiently large transistors.
