Hello YAHOO,I need to prepare for my project viva and I wish to know the entire things of microcontrollers like types,manufactuing companies,how do they designate,hidden truths,special things and etc.Could you please help me in finding those answers?Also suggest related sites or books if any.

The 80xx family of processors was the Intel 8-bit family.  Some were microprocessors, others were microcontrollers with built-in RAM and ROM.  The 8048 and 8051 were both microcontrollers and the 8051 became wildly successful.  It now has multiple vendors including Atmel which provides the AT89S51.  As far as I know, the '51 just implies that the 8051 is better than the 8048  (which it is).  The 8052 improves on the 8051.
