Ok so I have this huge project in my final year.We are supposed to come up with an automated product that the general public can use with our limited knowledge of PLC and basic microcontroller programming.I am from a electrical and electronic engineering course in college now.I don't want to ask for ideas unless I really get desperate so can you guys maybe help me out by showing some products or anything in need of automation for some inspiration?

Thanks alot! Cheesy

You could use automation to REALLY control a heating/cooling system in a house.  If you had extra sensors, such as outdoor temperature, control of the windows and fans, and variable speed control of the furnace fan, you could reduce the energy consumption of a house by a lot.

Less carbon footprint, green, etc., buzzword, etc.
