Which computer is better?

I am planning on majoring in computer engineering. I will most likely need to use programs like CAD and others that demand more power. Which computer would be better for this? Also is there anything expendable that would be worth saving the money because there is little added benefit?

Mmm Hard to say...I mean if you want a burner choose the second...They both seem to have amazing processors and nice dvd blueray player combo.
Macfee I wouldn't use though but that's just me its a ram hogger sometimes.
The second has pretty nice battery options though...
I would choose the second.
bigger screen. Nice battery. DvD blueray player. Enough memory and ghz to experiment with coding and seems more powerful.
