EBAY. I buy the 3X6 cells all the time to build my own panels. you can buy a small quantity for a very reasonable price. I buy from everbrightsolar2003 often.

Ebay.

You might want to do some serious research first- it is not as if no one has not been doing serious research.  Sandia Labs have been studying many technologies for decades, as has JPL/ NASA.

Not to be discouraging, I merely pointt those out because the social engineering of public schools purposely omits many of the entities that study these things, and also neglects to tell kids that manufacturers are always studying ways to improve their products or to be innovative with them.

You can see many of the "finished" products at http://www.northerntool.com  Just go to their "Alternative Energy" section and see how some of those panels are applied.

You can salvage innumerable small panels from people discarding their old "Malibu" Solar landscape lights due to dead batteries for example.

You can see some of the innovations that a Company in Iowa is doing at http://www.powerfilmsolar.com

You can also find many ideas and many references by spending a lot of time looking through http://www.builditsolar.com  Look through the whole site for ideas.

If your idea is truly innovative after seeing what is out there, and if it works- go for it.  The research will show you if anyone has already thought of it.  Lenses, mirrors, rotating systems to maintain optimal sun- those have been done, there are not too many refinements in some areas that can be done beyond what is already being done, and in others, some refinments may be possible.  You might even find some ideas you never thought of.
