is this data transmission method mature already? this technology is very
promising indeed.

this technology is still plaqued by noise and erratic connection speed,
they still need to invent a very good modulation technique to pass
through noisy lines.

Currently, they can't do more than several hundred Kbps. But in the future the technology may become viable.

as of now it is not possible to transmit at  1mbps over power line too much static and emi in their.

I think powerline data transmission would be superseeded by other technologies like free space optics.
