If so what have you built and how did it work and what board did you use? They look cool and am thinking of getting into hobbyist electronics.

Some examples: http://www.siliconsidewalk.com/categorie

I built a couple of the single sided arduinos to play with: http://www.arduino.cc/en/Main/ArduinoBoardSerialSingleSided3 and they are fun. I got one running a stepper motor H-Bridge that I built and flashing some LEDs, but I the most useful thing I have found for them is driving test circuits on breadboards. They can make life a lot simpler there!
