why did you buy a player without knowing what formats it will play?

How did you try and convert?  Maybe you chose the right formasts but the conversion itse;f was botched.

How did you try and put the files on the player?  maybe the conversion was correct, but you transferred them incorrectly.

which version of mp4 did you try?  Not all mp4 are the same.  Try mp4/h.264 or .263.

Not sure if you actually did this, but many people have. Changing the file extension doesn't convert the file. You have to have a conversion program.
