Took my computer into best-buy because it would not connect to the internet.. otherwise it was perfectly fine. They told us that we had a virus on it even tho the computer gets swept and cleaned everyday. After they shisted us out of 280$ for virus protection they call us a week later and say that the computers hard drive crashed, we asked them about the viruses and they said that there were never any viruses. So my original protection plan covered the actual problem. While shipping my computer to the service center it apparently got dropped and caused the entire front plate to shatter.. they fixed it with out my knowledge. A month later they finally call me to let me know that my computer is all ready to be picked up. I go there and computer does not work. Now the problem is something to do with my software.. which of course is not covered by my current protection plan. And they also informed me that my hard drive was fine.. they had to replace the motherboard.. I don't know much abou
about computers but I am pretty sure that I am being royally f***ed.

You mean like develop random algorithms spontaneously?
I highly doubt it.

Or do you mean if a software designer could use it to make new software?
Depends on the severity--might need some parts replaced, but possibly.

My understanding: You have dropped your computer and worried if it gets into any sort of trouble with the existing software. If my understanding is wrong, ignore the below sentence Smiley

Yeah it could if it happen to break/spoil any hardware stuff like, harddisk, RAM, CPU FAN etc. But it is not a software issue though.

Not software but hardware problems yes. So if your hard drive that contains the software gets screwed, that's kind of an issue here.

Sorry to hear about your problem Megan. You probably didn't know but best buy is about the same as the geeks. Total rip offs. Again, I'm sorry.
