what does it mean when the chip is too hot? ,and chip only works when u press down by ur finger?,7segment LED display  shows nonsence, all the LED outputs of a counter are on and seem to flicker .when does a shift counter  reach a certain state and gets stuck there
why my binary counter counts like this :0,8,2,10,4...
another counter stays in the state that its turned on and does not change at all|
one of the pins of my chip is nietther high nor low
PLEASE if you can think any possible causes for each problem tell me as quick as possible
THANK YOU
okey i was in hurry before but i can ask the question in human language:
i got this questions on a quiz:
given list of problems think of the possible causes:
1)seven 7segment of LED shows nonsence
2)pilot light turns off when  you connect the circuit
3)chip toooo hot(burned)
4)one of the pins on a chip  is neither high nor low
5)all the pins on a chip are high
6)chip only works when u press down with ur finger(into the board)
7)all ther LED  outputs of a counter are on and seem to flicker(light brighter then less brighter)
8)all the pins of a chip are low
9)all the pins of a chip are high
10)a shift counter reaches a certain state then gets stuck there
counter stays in the state that is turned on . does not change at all
11)binary counter gives the sequence:0,8,3,10(wrong sequence)

If you ask the question in a human readable language we might be able to help. None of us speaks Martian. If you are having trouble with multiple chips (as near as I can translate the question) I suspect you are handling them badly, not taking static precautions, or incorrectly connecting them. You are destroying them. Maybe you should not be working on delicate electronic components at all.

It's loose in the socket, and not connecting securely.
